Wildcats edged by Gamecocks

Kentucky lost by a count of 81-78 Wednesday night at South Carolina to drop to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the Southeastern Conference. The Wildcats were outscored 56-45 in the second half after leading by eight at the break. Immanuel Quickley led Kentucky with 20 points off the bench on 6-of-9 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-7 at the free throw line. He also registered six rebounds and two assists. Nick Richards tallied 15 points, seven boards and four blocked shots. Tyrese Maxey tallied 13 points in 32 minutes of action. Ashton Hagans accounted for 13 points, seven assists and four caroms.

Razorbacks dominate Commodores

Arkansas cruised to a 75-55 home victory Wednesday night over Vanderbilt to improve to 14-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The Razorbacks outscored the Commodores 41-27 in the second half to pull away. Jimmy Whitt Jr. paced Arkansas with 30 points on 14-of-24 shooting plus 2-of-4 at the free throw line. He also recorded eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Reggie Chaney contributed 14 points, three boards and two assists off the bench. Desi Sills tallied 13 points, seven caroms, two assists and two steals. Isaiah Joe added 12 points, four rebounds and three dimes.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. The road team is 4-9 ATS in the last 13 meetings.

The favorite is 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings. Arkansas is 4-1 ATS in its last five games.

The Razorbacks have benefited from a pretty soft schedule, but they are also dangerously close to being an undefeated team as they lost in overtime at Western Kentucky and fell by two points at LSU. Arkansas is outstanding defensively and will be backed by what will be a very engaged home crowd today versus a ranked opponent that is more often than not the class of the SEC. I see a close contest, but the Wildcats showed Wednesday they are still vulnerable and I see Arkansas getting it done here.
