Wildcats down Crimson Tide

Kentucky secured a 76-67 home win Saturday over Alabama to improve to 12-3 overall and 3-0 in Southeastern Conference play. The Wildcats led 45-35 on their way to the victory. Immanuel Quickley paced UK with 19 points off the bench on 6-of-19 shooting including 5-of-6 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also accounted for five rebounds and three assists. Ashton Hagans racked up 15 points, nine boards, nine dimes and three steals. Nick Richards accumulated 13 points, 11 caroms and five blocked shots. Tyrese Maxey added 13 points and four rebounds.

Gamecocks edged by Vols

South Carolina lost by a score of 56-55 at Tennessee Saturday to fall to 8-7 overall and 0-2 in conference action. The Gamecocks were outscored 31-29 in the second half of the defeat. Maik Kotsar paced USC with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting plus 3-of-5 at the free throw line. He also pulled down eight rebounds. Jermaine Couisnard added 15 points, three steals, two boards and two assists off the bench.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Wildcats are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a road favorite. The favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

South Carolina

The Gamecocks are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games. South Carolina is 0-7 ATS in its last seven home games.

The Gamecocks have lost three in a row including a puzzling home defeat against Stetson, but they at least looked competitive last game and had a shot to win until a charge was called against them with 1.4 seconds remaining. But South Carolina has only beaten two top 100 teams this season and has a subpar offense that I don't think will keep up against a Wildcats team that has really played well the last couple of weeks. Giving the points and taking the favorites here.
