Terrapins topple Buckeyes

Maryland prevailed by a score of 67-55 Tuesday night at home against Ohio State to improve to 13-2 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten Conference. The Terrapins led 28-22 at halftime and continued to pull away after the break. Anthony Cowan Jr. led Maryland with 20 points on 4-of-9 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point range plus 10-of-12 at the free throw line. He also recorded six rebounds and two assists. Jalen Smith accounted for 11 points, seven boards and two blocked shots. Darryl Morsell added 10 points, three caroms, three dimes and two steals.

Hawkeyes falter at Cornhuskers

Iowa lost by a count of 76-70 Tuesday night at Nebraska to drop to 10-5 overall and 1-3 in conference action. The Hawkeyes trailed 38-31 at halftime and were unable to recover. Joe Wieskamp paced Iowa with 21 points on 10-of-23 shooting including 1-of-10 from 3-point distance. He also accounted for seven rebounds and two assists. Luka Garza racked up 16 points, 18 boards and two dimes. Joe Toussaint added 14 points, six caroms and four assists.
