Cougars roll past Tigers
Houston improved to 15-0 overall and 2-0 in the American Athletic Conference Saturday with a 90-77 home win over Memphis. The Cougars established a 45-34 halftime advantage on its way to the win. Houston shot 33-of-73 from the floor, 12-of-34 from 3-point range and 12-of-16 at the free throw line. Armoni Brooks paced the Cougars with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting including 6-of-11 from 3-point range. He also pulled down six rebounds. Nate Hinton contributed 19 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Galen Robinson Jr. tallied 11 points, seven assists, five boards and three steals. Corey Davis Jr. had 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Dejon Jarreau added 10 points, six dimes, three caroms and two steals.
Owls take down Shockers
Temple secured an 85-81 victory in overtime Sunday at Wichita State to improve to 11-3 overall and 1-1 in AAC play. The Owls outscored the hosts 11-7 in the extra session, while they overcame a 45-32 halftime deficit. Temple shot 31-of-65 from the floor, 6-of-21 from 3-point distance and 17-of-28 on 3-point attempts in the victory. Shizz Alston Jr. led the Owls with 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting including 2-of-9 from 3-point distance and 4-of-4 at the charity stripe. He also contributed three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Nate Pierre-Louis contributed 21 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Quinton Rose added 17 points plus five assists, five steals and three boards.

I like Houston to get the job done here and live another day as an udefeated squad.
