Bet on Wake Forest vs. Virginia

After an 11-1 start to the season, Virginia has dropped two straight to Florida State and Pitt to fall to 11-3 overall and 1-2 in the ACC. The Cavs are just 7-5 against the spread on the season after going 4-5 ATS in their last nine. Virginia has been a team that has relied on defense, allowing just 51.4 points per game on the season while scoring only 68.8 points per game on offense. They hold opponents to 36 percent shooting from the field. London Perrantes is the leader with 10.4 points and 4.4 assists per game. He is the only player to average double figures this season.

Wake Forest got its first ACC win this week, beating Boston College 79-66 to move to 10-5 on the year and 1-2 in the ACC. The Demon Deacons have failed to cover the spread in three straight and are 6-7 against the spread this year. Wake averages 80.9 points per game on offense while allowing 73.2 points per game on defense. Away from home, the Demon Deacons have averaged just 69.6 points per game. Wake Forest has some talent that should be able to keep this game competitive. The Cavaliers are a team that has to win with defense, which means games usually are somewhat tight. I don’t see UVA being able to run away from the Deacons with their offense. Look for this game with be decided by single digits.
