Creighton secured a 92-75 home win Wednesday night over Marquette to improve to 12-2 overall and 1-0 in the Big East. The Bluejays led 48-38 at halftime and padded their advantage after the break. Mitch Ballock paced Creighton with 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting including 5-of-9 from 3-point range plus 1-of-1 at the free throw line. He also contributed four rebounds and three assists. Ty-Shon Alexander racked up 21 points, eight boards and six steals. Damien Jefferson accounted for 17 points, six caroms and two assists. David hits go-ahead 3-pointer
Christian David hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 43 seconds remaining Tuesday night to send Butler to a 60-58 win at St. John’s. The Bulldogs led 37-16 at halftime before blowing the entirety of the advantage prior to the David shot. Kamar Baldwin led Butler with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 5-of-8 from 3-point range. He also tallied two rebounds and two assists. Sean McDermott contributed 12 points and 10 boards. College Basketball Betting Trends
Creighton
The Bluejays are 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. Creighton is 5-0 ATS in its last five Saturday games.
Butler
The Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games. The favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings.
Prediction:
Butler brings in an elite defense ranked seventh nationally in adjusted efficiency and has seven wins over top 100 programs. Creighton has been impressive lately, but the last time it played an opponent in the same ballpark as the Bulldogs it lost by 10 at Michigan. I think Butler will show more focus today than it did at St. John’s and it will lead to a victory plus a cover.
