JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -Jeremy Hazell scored 14 points and Seton Hall overcame a poor 3-point shooting performance to beat St. Peter’s 60-46 on Saturday.
Eugene Harvey and Paul Gause scored 12 points each for Seton Hall, which won its fifth game in a row and improved to 8-1.
The Pirates, who entered the game shooting 35 percent from 3-point range this season, were 1-for-17 from behind the arc, with Harvey the only player to make a shot.
Nick Leon led St. Peter’s (3-6) with 11 points. The Peacocks shot just 2-for-15 from 3-point range and 14-for-48 (29 percent) overall.
St. Peter’s trailed 44-37 midway through the second half after two free throws by Jordan Costner (12 rebounds), but Kahlil Mumford missed a 3-pointer on the Peacocks’ next possession and Seton Hall scored 15 of the next 19 points to take a 59-41 lead. Hazell had seven points in the run.
