EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -Jeremy Goode scored 23 points to lead Mount Saint Mary’s to a 78-69 victory over Boston University on Saturday night.
Goode, who also had five assists, scored eight points to spark a 16-9 run by the Mountaineers (2-2) in the second half. Mount Saint Mary’s converted its final eight free throws, including six by Goode, to pull away from the Terriers (3-2).
Jean Cajou scored 16 points and Shawn Atupem had 11 for Mount Saint Mary’s. Markus Mitchell finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Carlos Strong scored 18 points and had six rebounds for Boston. John Holland added 17 points and Corey Lowe had 16.
The Mountaineers took a 45-33 lead with 17:50 left in the second half on Atupem’s layup. Boston tied the score at 62-62 with 5:44 remaining on a layup by Holland, but Mount Saint Mary’s answered with six straight points to put the game away.
