OLEAN, N.Y. (AP) -St. Bonaventure freshman forward Da’Quan Cook will miss this season after the NCAA ruled Monday that he didn’t meet initial eligibility guidelines.
St. Bonaventure didn’t detail which guidelines were involved. Cook will retain his scholarship and be eligible for next season.
Cook, recruited out of the Miller School in Virginia, has not played this season. Listed at 6-foot-8, he averaged 13.4 points and 6.7 rebounds as a high school senior last year.
“I have no doubt that Da’Quan will come through this as an even stronger person and be ready for next season,” Bonnies coach Mark Schmidt said.
