GEORGETOWN, Texas (AP) – Denzel Livingston scored 21 points as Incarnate Word beat Southwestern University 80-61 on Friday night.
Incarnate Word (5-0) shot 51 percent from the field and 6-of-13 from beyond the 3-point arc while Southwestern shot just 30.6 percent from the floor. The Cardinals out-rebounded Southwestern 43-27 and grabbed 34 defensive rebounds.
Justin Philippe and Kyle Hittle led Incarnate Word with 10 rebounds apiece and scored 11 points and 10 points, respectively.
Leading 15-14 in the first half, Incarnate Word scored the game’s next 16 points to extend its lead to 31-14. The closest Southwestern came after that was nine points.
Jake Schifani led Southwestern with 15 points.
