EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -Raymar Morgan had 20 of his 23 points by the 14-minute mark of the first half and No. 6 Michigan State beat Lake Superior State 112-69 on Monday in an exhibition game.
When Morgan took a seat for the rest of the first half after playing just 11 minutes, Michigan State led the Division II Lakers 40-18. That was after Lake Superior State had rallied from a 20-2 deficit.
Durrell Summers had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Spartans, while Marquise Gray had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Chris Allen had 11 points and Travis Walton 10 for Michigan State, which had 10 players score in a first half that ended with the Spartans leading 61-28.
Superior State had baskets.
Mark Morse led the Lakers with 19 points and Scott Perkins had 10.
The Spartans open the regular season Sunday, at home against Idaho.
