LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -Louisville sophomore forward/center Derrick Caracter suffered a small tear in cartilage in his left knee during a pickup game.
Caracter, who averaged 8.1 points per game as a freshman, will have the tear repaired on Monday and will be out four to six weeks, school spokesman Kenny Klein said Thursday in a statement.
The 6-foot-8, 265-pound Caracter shot 55.8 percent from the field and 52.7 percent from the free throw line last season with the Cardinals (24-10) losing in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
