OREM, Utah (AP) -Josh Olsen scored a game-high 21 points to lead Utah Valley to an 89-39 win over New Jersey Institute of Technology Saturday night.
The 50-point loss was the worst of the season for NJIT (1-28), which has now dropped 10 consecutive contests.
The Wolverines’ leading scorer, Ryan Toolson, was held to four points in the first half, but his first basket with 9:11 remaining in the opening half capped a 17-2 run that gave UVU a 23-6 lead.
Olsen’s 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer handed the Wolverines a 43-18 advantage.
UVU (16-11) shot 59 percent from the field for the game and was 16-of-26 from behind the 3-point arc. Tyray Petty scored 15 while Jourdain Scoubes and Ryan Toolson both scored 14 for the Wolverines.
The Highlanders, shooting 33 percent, were led by Gary Garris 11 points.
