ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -Mike Gordon scored 32 points to lead Binghamton over Albany 71-57 in America East college basketball Saturday.
Gordon finished 8-of-11 from three point range, 11-of-17 overall and grabbed five rebounds for the Bearcats. Lazar Trifunovic added 13 points and had seven rebounds. Dwayne Jackson scored 10 points.
Brian Lillis was the only Albany player to score in double digits, carrying the Great Danes (7-9, 2-2) with 25 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Brian Connelly and Jerel Hastings added nine points apiece.
Trailing 44-36, the Great Danes went on a 8-0 run, capped off by a three-pointed by Jon Iati to even the score at 44-44 with 11:05 left to play.
Gordon connected on a pair of long-range shots to ignite Binghamton (6-10, 2-2) on an 11-2 run of its own, to forge ahead 57-48. Iati added scored his second three-pointer at the 2:05 mark to cut the deficit to 60-55, but Binghamton fought off Albany’s full-court pressure and made 6-of-6 free throws down the stretch.
