LORETTO, Pa. (AP) -DeMario Anderson scored 19 points and Evann Baker scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half to lead Quinnipiac to a 74-61 victory over St. Francis, Pa. on Thursday night.
Justin Rutty added 10 points and nine rebounds for Quinnipiac (6-7, 2-0 Northeast Conference).
Chris Berry was the only player in double figures for St. Francis (3-10, 1-1) with 13 points.
Quinnipiac went on a 13-3 run to take a 20-8 lead with 10:49 to go in the first half. The Red Flash narrowed the gap to 27-20, but the Bobcats had a 9-4 surge to close the half and take a 36-24 lead at the break.
Quinnipiac took a 46-33 lead in 15:34 remaining, but St. Francis closed to 50-44 on a Berry layup with 10:34 to play. Anderson scored the next four points to regain a 10-point lead for the Bobcats, and St. Francis never got closer than eight points the rest of the way.
