Ex-Kentucky Player Charged in Ticket Scam

Lexington, KY – Police say they have arrested former University of Kentucky basketball star Edward Davender in a scam to sell fraudulent season tickets for the upcoming season.

Lexington, Ky., police say Davender is charged with three felony counts of theft by deception and one count of trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school.

He allegedly was accepting advance payments for tickets that weren’t available for him to sell. Police say three victims have been identified.
UK basketball spokesman DeWayne Peevy said he had just heard of the situation Tuesday and had no immediate comment.
The 43-year-old Davender played for the Wildcats from 1984 through 1988, including two years as an all-Southeastern Conference player.
