The 2010 Mid-American Conference Tournament kicks off play Sunday with opening round games before concluding on Saturday from Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Eight teams will take part in opening round games today, while four teams have automatic bids into the quarterfinals, which take place on Thursday. The No. 1 seed,

Kent
State, is favored to win the tournament title.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made Kent State a 2/1 favorite to win the MAC Tournament. Other short odds to win are
Akron (5/2), Central Michigan (3/1), and
Miami (

Ohio) (4/1).

The Golden Flashes are 23-8 on the season and 13-3 in the MAC, winning the East Division and overall regular season title.

Kent
State has won five MAC Tournaments in school history, the last coming in 2008.
Kent
State has won 13 of its last 14 games with a loss to

Buffalo in the middle. The Flashes other two conference losses came against
Miami and

Bowling Green.

Akron is the No. 3 seed coming in, but has the second best record in the MAC at 22-9 overall and 12-4 in the MAC.
Akron won its first MAC Tournament last year, but the Zips are coming off a 74-61 loss to

Kent
State at home. The Zips have also lost to Eastern Michigan and

Buffalo in conference play.

Central Michigan has won two MAC Tournaments, with the last coming in 2003. CMU is the No. 2 seed in the tournament after winning the West Division. CMU is 15-14 overall and 9-7 in the MAC. The Chippewas won their last two games of the season, but had lost five of their previous seven before that.

Miami is the No. 4 seed in the tournament and they have won four tournament titles with the last coming in 2007. The RedHawks are 13-17 overall and 9-7 in the MAC.

Miami lost four of its last six to end the regular season.
