Kansas entered the preseason as the No. 1 ranked team in the country and the Jayhawks may leave the season as NCAA Champions.

Set to make their 22nd straight NCAA Tournament appearance Kansas is eyeing its second NCAA Championship in the last three years. The Jayhawks are 32-2 on the season and 15-1 in the Big 12 Conference. Kansas has the No. 1 ranking currently and Bill Self seems to have one of the clear cut favorites to win the tournament.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have given Kansas 2/1 odds to win the NCAA Tournament. The Jayhawks have two John Wooden Award candidates as well as Sherron Collins has 12/1 odds and Cole Aldrich has 18/1 odds.

The Jayhawks have lost Tennessee and Oklahoma State this season. Both losses were by eight points. Kansas has finished its regular season with five straight wins, including the Big 12 Tournament championship win over Kansas State, 72-64.

The Jayhawks average 81.8 points per-game while allowing just 63.8, both of which are tops in the Big 12. Kansas shoots 48.8 percent from the field and holds opponents to 37.7 percent. The Jayhawks also shoot 40.9 percent from 3-point land. Kansas picks up 40.5 rebounds per-game, which is second in the conference while blocking 6.41 shots per-game. The Jayhawks also average 17.15 assists and 8.41 steals per-game.

Collins averages 15.6 points and 4.4 assists per-game while shooting 43 percent from the field, 38 percent from 3-point land, and 85 percent from the free throw line. Aldrich averages 11.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per-game. Aldrich shoots 55.9 percent from the field. Xavier Henry and Marcus Morris each average over 12 points per-game as well.
