TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -Junior Tyrone Kent scored a career-high 27 points to lead Toledo past Missouri State 57-53 Saturday.
Toledo came out of the gates with a 14-4 run in the first four-and-a-half minutes of the game. Toledo saw its largest lead of 16 with 1:24 to go in the first half.
Drew Richards led Missouri State in scoring with 16 points. Toledo scored 22 points off Missouri State turnovers.
Missouri State came with one point of Toledo with 2:12 left in the second half, but then gave up a lay-up with 1:48 left. They again came within one point on a dunk by Richards with eight seconds left, but then Toledo pulled away on foul shots to put the game away.
