MIAMI (AP) -Miami general manager Randy Pfund, who helped the Heat win the 2006 NBA championship as the highlight of his 13 years with the franchise, resigned Monday.
Pfund has chosen to pursue ``other business opportunities,'' the Heat said in a release. Team president Pat Riley will assume Pfund's duties.
Pfund was expected to release a statement further detailing his decision Tuesday, the team said.
