WASHINGTON (AP) -Washington Wizards forward Caron Butler sat out his third straight game Friday night against the Utah Jazz because of a hip injury.
“He’s out tonight,” Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said before the game. “Hopefully he’ll be ready to go on Sunday.”
Jordan said Butler is undergoing rehab for his strained left hip flexor. Although Butler had a stomach virus Thursday, Jordan said it was the hip that kept him out of Friday’s game.
Butler was picked for his second straight All-Star game Thursday. He is averaging 21.9 points, 4.3 assists and 2.4 steals, all career highs, and 7.0 rebounds.
Butler was hurt in Sunday’s game at Milwaukee.
