Nets take down Blazers
Brooklyn earned a 119-115 win at Portland Friday night to improve to 4-4 overall and 1-2 on the road. The Nets led 54-49 at halftime and were able to hold on after the break. Spencer Dinwiddie led Brooklyn with 34 points off the bench on 11-of-18 shooting including 6-of-10 from 3-point range plus 6-of-7 at the free throw line. He also tallied five rebounds and four assists. Kyrie Irving accounted for 33 points, six assists and three boards. Joe Harris had 14 points and five caroms. Jarrett Allen added 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots.
Suns blasted by Heat
Phoenix suffered a 124-108 home loss Thursday night against Miami to drop to 5-3 overall and 3-2 at home. The Suns were outscored 31-22 in the fourth quarter of the defeat. Arron Baynes led Phoenix with 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 2-of-3 at the charity stripe. He also pulled down four rebounds. Devin Booker tallied 22 points, five assists and three boards. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 15 points, three assists, two rebounds and two blocked shots. Ricky Rubio accounted for 11 points, 11 boards and six assists. Tyler Johnson added 11 points in 16 minutes off the bench.
NBA Betting Trends
Brooklyn
The Nets are 4-0 ATS in their last four games versus the Pacific Division. Brooklyn is 1-4 ATS in its last five road games.
Phoenix
The Suns are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. Phoenix is 42-18 ATS in its last 60 games versus the Atlantic Division.
Prediction:
The Suns have had a couple off days to regroup and for the most part, they have looked strong all season. Brooklyn is going to be a bit road-weary and might ease off the gas pedal after a couple wins. Phoenix has been solid defensively on most nights and I don’t think scoring will be difficult against a subpar Nets defense. Going with the Suns to take care of business here.
