Wizards awful vs. the West
The Washington Wizards face a tough challenge at home tonight when they host the Golden State Warriors at 8PM ET on ESPN.
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, the Wizards are a heavy underdog at home tonight, as they are getting odds of +10.5 points against the Wizards. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 224.5 points.
Leaving conference play hasn’t exactly been a good outcome for the Wizards. They are just 6-11 straight up against Western Conference opponents and 7-10 against the spread. Since 2014, the Wizards are just 19-27-1 against the spread against the West, which is the worst cover percentage of any Eastern Conference team.
Making matters worse are that the Wizards are facing the league’s best team in the Warriors. Golden State has won eight of its last nine against Washington, covering the spread in six of those nine games. The Wizards are also in a slump coming into tonight, as they are just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games.
