With the core of the ’09 team expected back in 2010, the Lakers have opened as 2.25/1 favorites to win the NBA Finals next year according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL. The team that L.A. beat in the 2009 Finals, the Orlando Magic, have short odds win a championship next year at 7/1.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that many expected to win this year’s Finals, has also been given short odds to win in 2010 at 3/1. If the Cavs want to keep LeBron James in Cleveland for years to come, the organization will have to make some moves this offseason in order to compete. They could add a big body down low in the post and rumors are already circulating that Shaq could be heading to Cleveland.

Another team with favorable odds is the Boston Celtics, who are 4.5/1 to win. With Kevin Garnett expected back at full health, the 2008 NBA Finals Champs should once again challenge the Magic and Cavs in the East. Of course, they too might be looking to make some moves this offseason and Ray Allen could be on the block.

The San Antonio Spurs (15/1), Houston Rockets (15/1) and Utah Jazz (18/1) are some teams with some value heading into next season. For complete odds on all the teams to win the 2010 NBA Finals, see below.
