Cavs getting blown out
Cleveland has lost three of its last four, all by double figures. The Cavs are coming off a 128-105 loss at home to the 76ers on Sunday. Cleveland is 7-23 on the season, 2-11 on the road, 14-16 against the spread and 16-14 with the under.
There isn’t much to like about the Cavs right now. They are averaging 103.4 points per game on offense while shooting 44.5 percent from the field. Defensively, the Cavs are allowing 111.8 points per contest while allowing opponents to shoot 48.5 percent from the floor. The Cavs have been without Kevin Love, JR Smith and now Tristan Thompson. Jordan Clarkson is now leading the way with 16.7 points per game.
Pacers win seventh straight
Indiana is coming off a 110-99 win over the Knicks at home for their seventh straight victory. They failed to cover the 11.5-point spread by just ½ a point, but are still 5-2 against the spread during this win streak. The Pacers are 20-10 on the season, 11-4 at home, 16-14 against the spread and 19-11 with the under.
The Pacers have the NBA’s top defense, allowing just 101.2 points per game while opponents shoot 43.8 percent from the floor. The offense puts up 106.7 points per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor and 37.4 percent from the arc. Victor Oladipo is leading the team with 20.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Bojan Bogdanovic is adding 16.5 points per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Cavs are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five against NBA Central opponents.
Indiana
The Pacers are 5-1 against the spread in their last six following a win and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 division games.
Prediction:
The Cavs are struggling a great deal as their roster is quite depleted, especially in the frontcourt. Indiana is rolling right now and the Pacers have a lockdown defense that shouldn’t have any problems limiting what the Cavs will do on offense. Indiana is also seeing a nice uptick in offense with Oladipo back and the Pacers are looking like a top contender in the East. I expect another big win tonight.
NBA Prediction: Indiana Pacers -12.5
