Magic healing up
Orlando is coming off a win at New Orleans on Sunday to end a three-game losing streak. The team got back All-Star center Nikola Vucevic back after he missed multiple weeks with an injury. Orlando is 12-14 on the season, 4-8 on the road, 11-14-1 against the spread and 13-12-1 with the under.
The Magic are led by their defense, as they are giving up just 104.3 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent against them. Offensively, Orlando is struggling. The Magic average just 103.5 points per game and shoot only 43.4 percent as a team. Vucevic is averaging 17.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game for Orlando this year while Evan Fournier is adding 20 points and 3.2 assists per contest.
Jazz trying to heat up
Utah hasn’t quite reached its potential this season, but the Jazz have won three of their last four games to start to heat up. Utah is 15-11 on the season, 10-3 at home, 10-16 against the spread and 14-12 with the under.
The Jazz are putting up 107 points per game on offense this year while shooting 45.6 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from the arc. Defensively, Utah is giving up just 106.4 points per game while opponents only shoot 44.2 percent against them. Donovan Mitchell is leading the Jazz this year with 25 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Rudy Gobert is adding 14.7 points, 13.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Orlando
The Magic are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven Tuesday games, but have covered in five straight road games.
Utah
The Jazz are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight home games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine as a favorite.
Prediction:
Orlando certainly isn’t an offense that scares you, but the Magic are a much stronger team with Vucevic in the lineup. They won his first game back against the Pelicans by 11. Prior to his injury, the Magic were playing good basketball and were competitive in their losses. Utah isn’t a team that should overwhelm the Magic, especially with Orlando’s strong defense. Vucevic should be able to give Gobert problems and I think he will allow the Magic to cover on the road, if not win outright.
NBA Prediction: Orlando Magic +6.5
