Wizards vs. Timberwolves Pick
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Timberwolves are a 5.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 211.
Washington enters with a 10-9 overall record and 9-10 ATS after a 108-105 home loss to the Trail Blazers. Minnesota is 12-8 overall and 8-10-2 ATS following a 119-108 home victory over the Suns. The two meetings last season were split 1-1 straight up and 1-1 ATS. The over went 2-0.
The Wizards played their first game versus Portland without point guard John Wall, who is out the next two weeks with a knee injury. Bradley Beal contributed 26 points, seven assists, two steals and two blocks in the loss to the Blazers. Otto Porter Jr. had 24 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 13 points, six rebounds and two steals off the bench. Washington was outscored 35-22 in the fourth quarter.
Karl-Anthony Towns tallied 30 points, 12 rebounds and two assists in the win over Phoenix. Jimmy Butler had 25 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Andre Wiggins accounted for 21 points, five boards and four assists. Minnesota outscored the Suns 56-50 in the second half.
Washington is 1-6 ATS in its last seven meetings in Minnesota. The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.
The Wizards losing Wall for the time being is a major blow. Tim Frazier filled in admirably in the loss to Portland and will continue serving as the starter. Frazier can fill the stat sheet in a variety of areas, but he is a serious downgradge from Wall. Look for the T-Wolves to take advantage and cover the spread at home.
