Pelicans roll to third straight win
New Orleans was impressive Monday night for a third consecutive victory as it downed host Toronto by a score of 126-110. E’Twaun Moore paced the Pelicans with 30 points on 13-of-18 shooting with three assists and two rebounds. Jrue Holiday tallied 29 points, 14 assists and three boards. Anthony Davis dominated to the tune of 25 points, 20 rebounds, six assists and two blocked shots. Julius Randle added 17 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. New Orleans outscored the hosts in every quarter of the contest.
Timberwolves win first post-trade game
Karl-Anthony Towns had a huge game in leading host Minnesota to a 120-113 win over Brooklyn Monday night following the trade of Butler which netted small forward Robert Covington and power forward Dario Saric in return. Both players are expected to make their T-Wolves debut tonight. Towns paced Minnesota with 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting plus 21 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Jeff Teague tallied 24 points, 11 assists and three steals. Derrick Rose accounted for 23 points and six assists. Taj Gibson contributed 17 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Wiggins added 13 points, six boards and three assists. The Timberwolves outscored the Nets 63-54 between the second and third quarters.
NBA Betting Trends
New Orleans
The Pelicans are 0-5 ATS in their last five games after scoring 100 or more points in their previous game. New Orleans is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings.
Minnesota
The over is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings. The under is 5-1 in the last six T-Wolves games overall.
Prediction:
Minnesota doesn’t have a lot of time left to waste, but the fact is it probably will take a few games to develop chemistry with new teammates. New Orleans looked strong last game at Toronto and with a healthy Davis steamrolling opponents, I like the Pelicans’ chances to pull off the road victory tonight.
