Cavs roll at Knicks

Cleveland rolled to a 108-87 victory Sunday night at New York to improve to 4-5 overall and 2-3 on the road. The Cavaliers led 54-36 at halftime en route to the win. Collin Sexton paced Cleveland with 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting including 5-of-8 from 3-point range plus 6-of-8 at the free throw line. He also recorded three assists and two rebounds. Kevin Love accounted for 17 points, eight boards and two assists. Jordan Clarkson tallied 17 points, three caroms and two steals off the bench. Darius Garland added 12 points, six assists and three rebounds.

Sixers snap skid

Philadelphia ended its three-game losing streak Sunday night with a 114-106 home win over Charlotte to improve to 6-3 overall and 3-0 at home. The 76ers trailed 58-53 at halftime before outscoring the Hornets 35-23 in the third quarter to take control. Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting plus 6-of-7 at the free throw line. He also registered nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots. Furkan Korkmaz tallied 17 points and three boards. Al Horford contributed 15 points, seven caroms and five assists. Tobias Harris had 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Trey Burke tallied 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals as a reserve. Josh Richardson added 11 points, seven boards and six assists.

NBA Betting Trends

The Cavaliers are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games versus the Atlantic Division. Cleveland is 7-2-1 ATS in its last 10 Tuesday games.

The 76ers are 4-1 in their last five games versus the Central Division. Philadelphia is 7-3-1 ATS in its last 11 games overall.

Philadelphia has played well at home this season and still has enough pieces to get the job done with Ben Simmons missing in the short term. Cleveland has looked good its last couple games, but I think it is running into a buzzsaw here. The Sixers are good defensively across the board and I expect the Cavs' young guards to struggle to deal with it. Look for one or two big quarters to propel the 76ers to cover in this spot.
