Mavs race past Grizzlies
Dallas rolled to a 138-122 victory Saturday night at Memphis to improve to 6-3 overall and 4-0 on the road. The Mavericks trailed 34-31 after one quarter of play, but then outscored the Grizzlies a combined 73-57 over the next two quarters to take control. Luka Doncic led Dallas with 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting including 2-of-6 from 3-point range plus 4-of-5 at the free throw line. He also contributed 14 rebounds, eight assists and two steals. Tim Hardaway Jr. tallied 20 points in 22 minutes off the bench. Justin Jackson had 17 points and four boards as a reserve. Seth Curry contributed 16 points in 25 minutes of action. Jalen Brunson registered 13 points, four dimes, two caroms and two steals off the bench. Dorian Finney-Smith accounted for 11 points and three rebounds. Maxi Kleber had 11 points and four boards. Dwight Powell added 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots as a reserve.
Celtics dominate at Spurs
Boston won its seventh straight game Saturday with a 135-115 triumph that was tempered by the loss of Gordon Hayward to a broken left hand. The Celtics (7-1, 4-1 away) led 72-54 at halftime en route to the victory. Jaylen Brown paced Boston with 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point range plus 9-of-10 at the charity stripe. He also contributed seven rebounds and three assists. Kemba Walker put in 26 points to go with eight dimes and five boards. Jayson Tatum had 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. NBA Betting Trends
Dallas
The Mavericks are 11-1-1 ATS in their last 13 road games. Dallas is 1-4 ATS in its last five Monday games.
Boston
The Celtics are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. Boston is 3-11-1 ATS in its last 15 home games.
Prediction:
Dallas has had a great run on the road, but I see it ending here. Boston has been red-hot of late and even with Hayward out, there are plenty of wing players on the roster to do damage. Playing at the TD Garden against a very good squad is a lot different than playing at a rebuilding Grizzlies squad. Look for Boston to assert its will and cover this home spread.
