Rockets vs. Grizzlies Pick
Are the Houston Rockets going to win a fifth straight road game Saturday night when it plays at the Memphis Grizzlies? Game time is 8PM EST.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Grizzlies are set as a 1.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under sits at 204 points.
Houston comes in with a 5-1 record after a 109-93 victory at the Hornets Friday night. Memphis is 4-1 after it topped Dallas 96-91 at home. The Grizzlies handed the Rockets their lone loss, a 98-90 decision in Houston back on Oct. 23. Memphis has won three out of five meetings straight up and ATS since the start of last season. The total has gone under three times.
In the Rockets’ win Friday, James Harden recorded a triple-double with 27 points along with 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Eric Gordon scored 26 points, while Ryan Anderson contributed 21 points and six rebounds. Houston outscored the hosts 31-19 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Marc Gasol led the way with 25 points and 13 boards in the Memphis win over Dallas. Mike Conley Jr. had 22 points and four assists. Tyreke Evans had 19 points and six boards off the bench. The Grizzilies led 54-35 at halftime and held on from there.
Houston is 4-9 ATS in its last 13 meetings in Memphis.
Memphis has Conley, Gasol and a bunch of scrappy guys who fill roles. It works for the Grizzlies and it has for years. Houston has struggled with the type of basketball Memphis presents and on a back-to-back with travel, this spread looks a little small for the home team. Look for the Rockets to finally take a road loss after five straight wins to start the season.
