76ers squeak by Magic

J.J. Redick hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 17 seconds remaining Saturday night at home as Philadelphia edged Orlando. Joel Embiid poured in 32 points on 13-of-26 shooting while pulling down 10 rebounds and dishing out three assists in the win. Redick had 31 points along with four rebounds and four assists off the bench. Dario Saric tallied 13 points, nine boards and five assists. Robert Covington added 12 points, four rebounds and two steals. Ben Simmons left the game with a neck injury after playing eight minutes and is questionable for tonight.

Smith provides go-ahead basket

Ish Smith scored all 15 of his points in the second half and scored the go-ahead basket in the final minute as Detroit edged host Chicago by a count of 118-116. Blake Griffin led the way with 33 points on 12-of-23 shooting including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. He added 12 rebounds and five assists. Reggie Bullock scored 16 points, while Smith had five assists and three boards to go with the 15 points. Reggie Jackson recorded 18 points and six assists. Andre Drummond had a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds. Stanley Johnson added 10 points and seven boards.

NBA Betting Trends

The 76ers are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games. Philadelphia is 0-5 ATS when its opponent allows 100 or more points in its previous game.

The Pistons are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Detroit.

Detroit has won by slim margins over Brooklyn and Chicago to begin the season, not exactly inspiring a lot of confidence that will continue with regularity. But with Simmons out, that would make life easier for the Pistons tonight. There is some animosity between Embiid and Drummond, so the latter will certainly be properly motivated tonight. The Pistons have some confidence right now, so bettors should take advantage. Bet on the hosts tonight.
