Trail Blazers vs. Pacers Pick
Portland enters action with a 1-0 record after dismantling Phoenix 124-76 on the road Wednesday night. Indiana is also 1-0 after downing the visiting Nets 140-131 on Wednesday. The home team won both meetings last year with it going 1-1 ATS. The total went over both games.
In the Blazers' season-opening win, Damian Lillard scored 27 points to go with five rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots. Pat Connaughton scored 24 off the bench, while Evan Turner put in 12 points. Jusuf Nurkic registered 11 points and 11 rebounds. Portland led 60-35 at halftime and proceeded to outscore the Suns by 18 points in the third quarter on its way to the win.
Myles Turner was one of eight Pacers in double figures for scoring Wednesday as he recorded 21 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots. Darren Collison contributed 21 points and 11 assists. Victor Oladipo had a team-best 22 points with five rebounds and four assists. Thaddeus Young added 17 points and 11 boards. Indiana outscored the Nets by seven points in the second half to pull away.
The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings, while the Blazers are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
Both of these teams can score points in bunches as their season openers as well as recent head-to-head meetings have shown. While the Blazers improved defensively last season as the year wore on, offense is still their bread-and-butter. And it looks as though the Pacers will run with anybody if given the opportunity.
