Durant cleared for Team USA minicamp
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has been cleared to practice at Team USA’s minicamp.
Four months after his latest foot surgery, Durant hasn’t played in any 5-on-5 games but says that he “can go 100 percent.”
“I’ve got to play against the guys to really see, but I feel like I’m back to myself,” Durant said via ESPN.com.
Team USA went through a light workout on Tuesday, with players mostly conducting layup lines and shooting drills. Even though the practice was more about the team bonding than training, Durant was thrilled just to be doing basketball activities.
“Iron sharpens iron,” Durant said. “I’d be a fool if I didn’t get with any of these guys. If I wanted to be secretive about workouts, or be by myself, I’d be stupid to do that. To bounce ideas off of Chris Paul, LaMarcus Aldridge, Draymond Green, Steph Curry, that’s like heaven, like being in basketball heaven with these guys.”
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Thunder are 17/2 to win the 2016 NBA Championship.
