Cavs vs. Warriors Game 1 Pick
Will the Cavs keep things close tonight against the Warriors when Game 1 of the 2016 NBA Finals tips off at 9:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Warriors are 5.5-point home favorites over the Cavs after the line opened at Golden State -5.5. As for the total, the number currently sits at 209 points after it opened at 210. Our NBA Public Betting page also shows that 53% of public bettors are currently backing the Warriors.
CLEVELAND: The Cavaliers have covered seven of their last 10 games overall and are 6-2 against the number in their last eight games coming off a win. They are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 NBA Finals games but have covered in seven of their last 10 games versus an opponent with a winning record.
GOLDEN STATE: The Warriors have covered in 10 of their last 12 home games and are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games versus an opponent with a road winning percentage of greater than .600. But they’re just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games versus Central opponents and are 1-5 ATS in their last six games versus Eastern Conference foes.
OUR PREDICTION: Last year, Cleveland took Golden State to six games without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love (due to injuries). The Cavs finished off Toronto on Friday in six games, while the Warriors had a much tougher series against the Thunder, winning in seven on Monday. Expect the Cavs to steal Game 1 or at worst, cover in what should be a very tight game.
