Clippers vs. Jazz Prediction
Doc Rivers doesn’t want to take any chances with only four regular season games, so look for the Clippers to play plenty of reserves tonight when they visit the Jazz at 9:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Jazz opened as a 12-point favorite tonight versus the Clippers but the line has jumped Utah -13.5. As for the total, the number opened at 183.5 but has been bet up a half-point to 184.
The only objective Los Angeles has at this point is to risk further injuries before the postseason starts. Locked in the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference, the Clippers are expected to rest all five rotation regulars, including their entire “core four.”
As for the Jazz, they currently hold the No. 8 spot in the conference but are just a game ahead of the stumbling Rockets. Houston holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Utah, so this is a huge game for the Jazz to stay ahead of the Rockets in the playoff race.
The Clippers went to Oklahoma City last week without DeAndre Jordan, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin or J.J. Redick in the lineup and nearly pulled off a shocking victory over the Thunder, which played all of its regulars. Thus, there’s still plenty of value in taking the road team getting double-digit points.
