Clippers slipping

Los Angeles is coming off home losses to the Rockets and Lakers this week. The Clippers are 47-33 on the season, 22-18 on the road, 45-34-1 against the spread and 44-35-1 with the over. Los Angeles is sixth in the West right now, ½ a game over OKC. The Clippers can’t finish higher than sixth.

The Clippers are putting up 114.9 points per game this season while shooting 47.1 percent as a team. Defensively, Los Angeles is giving up 113.8 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent against them. Both Patrick Beverley and Danilo Gallinari are doubtful to play tonight due to injuries. Lou Williams is leading the team with 20.1 points and 5.4 assists per game.

Warriors on a 4-game win streak

Golden State is coming off a 120-114 win at home over Cleveland on Friday to improve their win streak to four games. They did fail to cover in the win. The Warriors are now 55-24 on the season, 29-11 at home, 34-44-1 against the spread and 42-37 with the under. Golden State has a 2-game edge on Denver for first with 3 games left in the season.

The Warriors are putting up 117.6 points per game on offense this season while shooting 49 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from the arc. Defensively, Golden State is giving up 111.2 points per game while holding opponents to 44.3 percent shooting. Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala are both questionable to play tonight. Stephen Curry is leading the team with 27.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game while Kevin Durant is adding 26.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Clippers are 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven road games and 21-6 ATS in their last 27 division games.

Golden State

The Warriors are 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 home games and just 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games following a win.

Prediction:

Golden State and a big spread doesn’t provide a lot of confidence. The Warriors have been very hot-and-cold this season in terms of playing to their full potential. With the first seed nearly locked up, I don’t know that they are going to put the pedal to the metal today. The Clippers are still fighting for the sixth seed and I think they will give a scrappy effort against a Golden State team that isn’t going to stretch themselves too thin.

NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers +11.5
