Blazers staying hot

Portland is coming off a 116-89 win at home over Memphis for its eighth win in nine games. They have covered the spread in four of their last five as well. Portland is 50-28 on the season, 20-19 on the road, 44-33-1 against the spread and 40-36-2 with the over. The Blazers sit fourth in the West right now, ½ a game behind Houston for third.

The Blazers are putting up 114.6 points per game on offense this year while shooting 46.6 percent as a team. Defensively, Portland is giving up 110.2 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent against them. CJ McCollum continues to be out for Portland with a knee injury. He was averaging 21.3 points per game for Portland. Damian Lillard is leading the team with 26 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.9 assists per contest.

Denver rolls the Spurs

The Nuggets are coming off a 113-85 win at home over the Spurs on Wednesday night. However, they are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven. Denver is 52-26 on the season, 32-7 at home, 40-38 against the spread and 46-31-1 with the under. Denver is second in the West right now, 2 games behind Golden State for first.

Denver is giving up just 106.6 points per game on defense while opponents shoot 45.7 percent against them. Offensively, the Nuggets are putting up 110.8 points per game while shooting 46.6 percent as a team. Nikola Jokic is leading the team with 20.1 points, 10.8 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game. Jamal Murray is adding 18.1 points and 4.8 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Portland

The Blazers are 11-3 against the spread in their last 14 road games and 20-6 ATS in their last 26 on 1 day of rest.

Denver

The Nuggets are 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games against a team with a winning road record, but just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 following a win.

Prediction:

The Nuggets have won both meetings with Portland this season and I think they will be able to do the same tonight. The Blazers are without a lot of key pieces right now due to injuries and Denver has been a very tough home team. They are 24-15 ATS at home this season and have gotten Murray back in the mix recently after an injury. Denver has as much incentive to win tonight as Portland, so I will go with the home team.

NBA Prediction: Denver Nuggets -6.5
