Rockets vs. Hawks Prediction
Even though the Rockets will be playing on back-to-back nights, will they still keep pace with the Hawks tonight at 7:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Atlanta is currently a 7-point home favorite over Houston while the over/under sits at 214.5 points, up from the opening number of 213.
The Rockets head into tonight with a 6-4 record over their last 10 games but are just 4-6 at the betting window during that stretch. The Hawks, meanwhile, are a red-hot 8-2 over their last 10 and covered in eight of those 10 contests. Houston is 17-18 on the road this season against the spread, while Atlanta is 18-16 ATS at home.
Houston has failed to cover the spread in seven of its 10 opportunities when playing on back-to-back nights this season. But if you dive deeper into the statistic, you'll see that the Rockets actually have a 0.2 win margin over those 17 games, so that 7-10 ATS record is deceiving.
James Harden scored 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting during Friday's 116-111 win over the Timberwolves while also adding 14 assists, five rebounds, three steals and three 3-pointers in 38 minutes of game time. He was aggressive, which led to nine turnovers, but if he puts up those sort of numbers again tonight then the Rockets should cover easily as an underdog.
