TV: N/A, 7:30 p.m. ET
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook YouWager, the Nets are 3.5-point home favorites to beat the Pelicans tonight. As for the betting total, the number is sitting at 214 at most online sportsbooks.
Brooklyn opened as a 1.5-point home favorite but the line has climbed to 3.5 at the majority of online sportsbooks. As for the total, it hit the board at 213 but was bet up a full point to 214.
As of this writing, 63% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Nets to cover the point spread this evening. Meanwhile, 66% of the betting tickets are on the under.
KEY INJURY TO WATCH
Harrison Barnes (rest), Wesley Matthews (leg) and Dorian Finney-Smith (rest) are all out for the Mavericks, while Allen Crabbe (illness), Dante Cunningham (eye) and Caris LeVert (knee) are all questionable for the Nets.
These are two of the worst teams in the NBA so you can make a case against both squads ahead of tonight's matchup. That said, I trust the Nets less than the Mavs. Brooklyn has dropped 18 of its last 21 games to fall 27 games below .500. Dallas at least put up a strong fight against Toronto on Saturday, even leading the Raptors at halftime before eventually falling 122-115 in overtime. The Mavericks are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall, are 12-5 against the number in their last 17 road games, and have covered the spread in five of their last six games coming off a game the night before.
OUR PREDICTION: DALLAS MAVERICKS +3.5
