Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Kings are 5.5-point favorites to beat the Knicks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 225.5 points and as of this writing, 72% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Kings to cover the point spread.
New York Knicks Fantasy Spin
Kevin Knox made 1-of-5 from the field for seven points with two rebounds, one steal and no turnovers in 25 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday. His dad was a receiver for the Arizona Cardinals and he grew up in the Phoenix area for parts of his life, but the hometown game narrative didn't pan out there. Knox continues to be a waste of a roster spot in most fantasy leagues, averaging just 8.0 points, 3.8 boards, 0.8 dimes and 0.2 treys on 26.7 FG% over his last five outings. Almost all owners in nine-cat formats should be able to do better.
Sacramento Kings Fantasy Spin
Harry Giles cooled off during Wednesday's home loss, scoring six points on 2-of-7 FTs and 2-of-4 FTs with four rebounds, two assists and one block. Giles played 21 minutes tonight and we'll give credit to Boston for forcing him into an unusually inefficient shooting line. He came in averaging 16.7 points in his previous three games, on 65.7% shooting, and should quickly bounce back vs. the Knicks (Saturday) and Wizards (Monday). The real threat to his value is Marvin Bagley (knee) returning, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
NBA Betting Trends
The Kings are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games versus the Knicks.
The Knicks are just 17-35 against the number in their last 52 home games and are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
The Kings have lost six of their last eight games, but it makes no sense to back a team in the Knicks that are likely tanking. The road team is 7-3-1 against the spread in the last 11 meetings between these two teams while the Kings have covered in 10 of their last 13 games coming off a loss. Sacramento has also taken care of business versus bad teams, covering in 10 of its last 12 games versus an opponent with a winning percentage that is below .400.
Saturday NBA Prediction: Sacramento Kings -5.5
