Spurs, Pacers should play under total
The Spurs have traditionally dominated the Pacers in Indiana but is laying the points on San Antonio the best play for bettors when the two teams meet tonight at 7:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Spurs are 6.5-point road favorites versus the Pacers while the over/under is sitting at 196.5 points. San Antonio enters play with a 53-9 record and is 38-24 against the spread this season, while Indiana is 33-30 overall and 31-31 against the number.
Public bettors love the Spurs to cover vs. the Pacers tonight
One of the reasons why the Pacers have struggled despite having plenty of talent in Paul George, Monta Ellis and Myles Turner (Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month in February) is because they’re struggling offensively. They own the NBA’s third overall defensive rating but they’re 23rd in offensive rating according to basketball-reference.com. Ellis has really struggled of late, shooting just 39.8 percent from the field over his last five games.
The Spurs, meanwhile, continue to be Fort Knox defensively. They own the league’s best defensive ranking and should have LaMarcus Aldridge (migraines), Tim Duncan (rest) and Danny Green (rest) back tonight after they missed the team’s previous game versus the Kings.
The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Indiana and is a perfect 6-0 in the Spur’s last six games, including 4-0 in their last four road games. The score should stay under the total again tonight.
