Can Nets hang with Jazz on Saturday?
The Nets own one of the worst records in the NBA but they could be a solid value play for bettors as a double-digit dog tonight versus the Jazz at 9:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Nets are 11-point underdogs versus the Jazz for tonight's game while the over/under currently sits at 197.5 points. Neither the side nor the total has moved as of this writing but you can compare odds at multiple sports books here.
Brooklyn is only 28-28 against the spread as an underdog this season but is 15-10 against the number as a road dog in 2015-16. Where the Nets have also thrived is when they're a road underdog of between 6.5 and 12 points like tonight, where they're 12-7 against the number.
The Nets have also fared well at the betting window when playing against a team with a losing record in the second half of the season. They've covered the spread in five of their seven opponents against opponents sporting a losing record and are also 7-3 ATS after playing two consecutive road games.
Utah seems a tad overvalued tonight by oddsmakers, especially considering the Jazz have failed to cover in four of their last five home games. They're also just 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and winless at 0-5 ATS in their last five games when playing on one day of rest.
