Thunder vs. Mavericks Prediction
The Thunder have played better ball over their last 10 games than the Mavericks but are they overvalued tonight by oddsmakers?
The two Western Conference foes will tip-off at 8:30PM ET and according to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, Oklahoma City is currently a 5-point favorite. The Thunder had opened as a 4.5-point favorite before the line moved, while the total has stayed steady at 214.5 points.
As previously mentioned, the Thunder have played well over their last 10 games, winning seven contests over that span. But they’re just 3-7 against the spread in those 10 games and are 7-17 ATS on the road this season. The Mavericks, meanwhile, are 4-6 both straight up and at the betting window over their last 10.
The Thunder have dropped back-to-back games, which should make them a focused group tonight in Dallas. But while it’s understandable that OKC is favored, the line seems too high (our Power Rating Line has the Thunder listed at -2).
The key tonight might be Deron Williams, who should be close to 100-percent after he played 2 minutes versus the 76ers on Sunday. He scored 15 points with eight assists and grabbed three boards in that game and will be well rested since the Mavs haven’t played since.
Dallas has been an excellent play at home of late, covering in 12 of its last 17 games at American Airlines Center. It’s the exact opposite for OKC on the road, as the Thunder are just 1-9 against the spread in their last 10 road games.
