Celtics vs. Nuggets Prediction
Public bettors hate the Nuggets to cover the spread against the Celtics tonight at 5:00PM ET but is there value in taking the points with the home dog?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Nuggets are 3-point home underdogs versus the Celtics while the total has climbed from 213 up to 215. Boston enters play with a 32-24 record and is 31-24 against the spread this season, while Denver is just 22-32 overall but is 30-23 at the betting window.
Our NBA public betting page shows that a whopping 83% of betting tickets are currently on the Celtics to cover the 3 points for tonight’s game. While that number could certainly lower the closer we get to tip-off, it’s an indication that public bettors belief Boston is a strong play.
But there is value in the Nuggets. For starters, they’re 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games and are coming off a four-game road trip. They’re 6-1 against the number in their last seven home games, are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games overall, and are 12-3-1 at the betting window in their last 16 games playing on one day of rest. Simply put, Denver is red-hot at the betting window right now.
As for their counterparts, the Celtics are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games coming off a loss so it’s not as if they’re cold ATS. That said, they’ve failed to cover the spread in eight of their last 11 trips to Denver while the home team is 19-7 against the number in the last 26 meetings between these two teams.
