Blazers down Spurs

Portland earned a 126-117 home victory Thursday night over San Antonio to improve to 24-28 overall and 14-11 at home. The Trail Blazers outscored the Spurs 39-25 in the fourth quarter to overcome a deficit. Damian Lillard led Portland with 26 points on 9-of-20 shooting including 3-of-9 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-5 at the free throw line. He also tallied 10 asissts and two rebounds. Carmelo Anthony accounted for 20 points, eight boards and four four dimes. C.J. McCollum had 19 points, six assists and three caroms. Gary Trent Jr. had 18 points and four assists. Hassan Whiteside racked up 17 points, 23 rebounds and four blocked shots. Anfernee Simons added 10 points in 15 minutes off the bench.

Jazz drop fifth straight

Utah lost 98-95 at home Wednesday night versus Denver to drop to 32-18 overall and 18-5 on its home floor. The Jazz were outscored 49-38 in the second half of the defeat. Mike Conley led Utah with 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting including 5-of-9 from 3-point range plus 4-of-6 at the charity stripe. He also notched eight rebounds and five assists. Donovan Mitchell contributed 18 points and eight boards. Bojan Bogdanovic accounted for 16 points, five caroms and five assists. Rudy Gobert tallied 16 points and 14 rebounds. NBA Betting Trends

The Trail Blazers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Portland is 5-11 ATS in its last 16 games as an underdog.

The Jazz are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 home games. Utah is 0-5-1 ATS in its last six games overall.

The Jazz have been on the struggle bus lately, while Portland has mostly played well as it attempts to get back into the playoff picture. But with the Trail Blazers going into a difficult road environment and Utah in desperate need to get back on the right track, I think the hosts can take advantage of a team on a back-to-back. As well as Portland has played the last few weeks, it is still a team with some defensive flaws. Coupled with the fact Utah is usually one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, I'm siding with the home team tonight.
