A pair of struggling teams will meet in Utah on Friday night when the Jazz will host the Nets at 9:00 p.m. ET. Is Utah a save bet as a 5-point home favorite or is there a better play on the board?

Kyrie Irving shot 10-of-20 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line in Tuesday’s loss to the Suns, scoring 26 points with four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three 3-pointers in 37 minutes. Irving may be a part-time player, but he’s a darn good one. A top-25 player in 9-cat formats over the last three weeks, Irving will have three more opportunities to put up numbers, beginning Wednesday night in Sacramento. As for his future eligibility for Nets home games, nothing has changed in that regard. A spokesperson for NYC Mayor Eric Adams told Yahoo Sports’ Chris B. Haynes that there are no plans to change the city’s vaccine mandate. And with the NBA ruling that teams have to follow local laws with regard to employee vaccination, the Nets won’t have the option of simply paying Irving’s fines in order to get him onto the court. So unless something changes on Irving’s end, he’ll continue to be a part-time player.

Donovan Mitchell has cleared the league’s concussion protocols and will be available for Friday’s game against the Nets, the Jazz announced. It goes without saying that this is a big deal for the Jazz, who have gone 2-6 since Mitchell suffered the injury during a January 17 loss to the Lakers. With Utah’s star guard available, Bojan Bogdanovic’s usage stands to take a hit. But not to the point where he’d be a drop in any fantasy league.
