Suns vs. Nuggets Pick
Will the host Denver Nuggets ease to a victory tonight when they battle the Phoenix Suns at 9PM ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Denver. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Nuggets are a 9-point favorite to win on the spread line. The total sits at 219 points. The spread has remained at -9, while the total has gone up slightly after opening at 218.
Who the Public Likes: As of Friday afternoon, 53 percent of public bets have come in on the Nuggets.
Injury Report: Suns forward TJ Warren has missed the last two games with lower back soreness, but is expected to play tonight. Danuel House missed the last game with an illness and he is questionable tonight. Marquese Chriss has missed the last three games with a hip flexor injury and he is out again tonight. Alan Williams is not expected back until late March after surgery on a torn meniscus. Brandon Knight is out for the season after tearing his ACL last summer. For Denver, Jamal Murray missed the last game with a brain injury and he is doubtful tonight as he continues to go through the concussion protocol. Paul Millsap is out until late February with a torn ligament in his wrist.
Who the Trends Like: Phoenix is 0-7 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Denver. The over is 5-0 in the last five meetings.
Who We Like: Denver has dominated this series the last few years, cruising to wins and taking advantage of porous Phoenix defense. But the Nuggets have struggled the last several weeks to string together wins lately, dropping five of their last seven games. While Denver did defeat Phoenix 134-111 at home back on Jan. 3, it was easier to trust the Nuggets at that juncture. I like Devin Booker to get hot, while the return of TJ Warren will help. I’m taking the Suns to cover.
