Clippers look for third straight

Los Angeles is coming off a 122-95 win over the Magic at home for a second straight victory and cover. The Clippers are 29-13 on the year, 10-9 on the road, 23-19 against the spread and 21-20-1 with the under.

The Clippers are putting up 115.8 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.5 percent from the field. Defensively, the Clippers are giving up 109.1 points per game while opponents shoot 43.7 percent against them. Paul George will be out for tonight’s game due to a hamstring injury. He is putting up 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. Kawhi Leonard is leading the team with 26.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

Pelicans playing well

New Orleans is coming off a second straight OT win over Utah on Thursday night. The Pelicans are 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 games. The Pelicans are 16-26 on the season, 8-12 on the road, 20-20-2 against the spread and 24-18 with the over.

The Pelicans are putting up 113.8 points per game on offense while shooting 45.2 percent from the field. Defensively, New Orleans is allowing 117.3 points per game while opponents shoot 46.7 percent against them. The Pelicans are without Jrue Holiday, Kenrich Williams and Jahlil Okafor today due to injury. Holiday is averaging 19.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. Brandon Ingram is leading the team with 25.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Clippers are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a road favorite.

New Orleans

The Pelicans have covered the spread in five straight home games and 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall.

The home team has won the first two meetings between these two and I think the Pelicans can win today as well. The Clippers are without a big piece today in George, so I don’t expect them to be able to produce their usual scoring. They also have been pretty inconsistent on the road this year, as shown by their 10-9 record. The Pelicans have been playing really well as of late, led by Ingram’s breakout performances. I like them at home as an underdog against the Clips, who seem to struggle to find motivation on the road.

NBA Prediction: New Orleans Pelicans +5.5
