Magic vs. Lakers Prediction
Are the Lakers a good bet tonight as a home favorite against the Magic at 9:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Lakers are now 1.5-point home favorites versus the Magic after opening as a 1-point favorite. As for the total, the number hit the board at 217 and was bet down to 216, which is where it is currently at most sports books.
ORLANDO KEY TRENDS: The Magic are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus Pacific Division opponents and are 3-1-1 against the number in their last five games versus a team with a winning percentage below .400. That said, they have failed to cover in four of their last five games overall and are just 7-18-1 at the betting window in their last 26 games playing on one day of rest.
LOS ANGELES KEY TRENDS: The Lakers are just 3-11 against the spread in their last 14 games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game and are 2-6 against the number in their last eight games following a straight up win. They're also 7-19-1 at the betting window in their last 27 games versus a team with a losing record and are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 Sunday games.
OUR PREDICTION: Aaron Gordon continues to be impressive and is coming off a loss to the Rockets on Friday in which he handed out a career-high seven assists. But Orlando can't score. The Magic own a 101.0 offensive efficiency number, which ties them with New Orleans for the third-worst in the league. Julius Randle, Luol Deng and Jordan Clarkson are all probable for the Lakers tonight. Los Angeles is just 3-7 in its last 10 games but I like the Lakers to beat a struggling Magic team tonight.
SUNDAY NBA PREDICTION: LOS ANGELES LAKERS -1.5
